In addition to treatment of hearing loss and tinnitus, our doctors are dedicated to the prevention of hearing loss and conservation of hearing. One of the biggest modifiable risk factors for hearing loss is exposure to loud sounds over prolonged periods of time. Advanced Audiology of NY is involved in Hearing Conservation Programs within our communities to prevent hearing loss due to noise exposure.
The purpose of a Hearing Conservation Program (HCP) is to prevent the occurrence or reduce the progression of noise-induced hearing loss. Some examples of professions that require hearing conservation and noise precautions include factory workers, heavy equipment operators, first responders, and fire or police personnel. A Hearing Conservation Program must include:
– Noise exposure monitoring
– Hearing protection
– Hearing testing
– Training on use of noise protection and noise precautions
– Recordkeeping Hearing Conservation Program
Advance Audiology of NY can provide all or the services above or integrate specific services as needed within an existing conservation program. Request a call back if you feel that you or your organization may benefit from our Hearing Conservation Services.
